The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (movie)

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is a 1948 American dramatic adventurous neo- western written and directed by John Huston . It was a feature film adaptation of B. Traven ‘s 1927novel , about two financially desperate Americans , Fred C. Dobbs ( Humphrey Bogart ) and Bob Curtin ( Tim Holt ), who’ s in the 1920s join old – timer Howard ( Walter Huston , the director’s father) in Mexico to prospect for gold.

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre was one of the first Hollywood films to be filmed on the outside of the United States (in the state of Durango and street scenes in Tampico , Mexico), although many scenes were filmed back in the studio and elsewhere in the US. The film is quite faithful to the source novel. In 1990, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”. [2]

Dick . Set in a dystopian Los Angeles in 2019, the film depicts a future in which synthetic humans are known as replicants are bioengineeredby the powerful Tyrell Corporation to work on off-world colonies . When a fugitive group of replicants led by Roy Batty (Hauer) escape back to Earth, burnt-out cop Rick Deckard (Ford) reluctantly agrees to hunt them down. During his investigations, Deckard meets Rachael (Young), an advanced replicant who causes him to question his work.

The Exorcist (movie)

The Exorcist is a 1973 American supernatural horror film , adapted by William Peter Blatty from his 1971 novel of the same name , and starring Ellen Burstyn , Linda Blair , Max von Sydow , and Jason Miller . The film is part of The Exorcist franchise. The book, inspired by the 1949 exorcism of Roland Doe , [3] [4] deals with the demonic possessionof a 12-year-old girl and her mother’s attempts to win back her child through an exorcism conducted by two priests. The adaptation is relatively faithful to the book, which has been commercially successful (earning a place on the New York Times Best Seller list ). [5] [6] The film experienced a troubled production; Even In The Beginning, movie directors Including Several prestigious Stanley Kubrick and Arthur Pennturned it down. Incidents, such as the toddler of one of the main actors being hit by a motorbike and hospitalized, attracted claims that the set was cursed. The complex special effects used in the film also presented severe challenges. The film’s notable moral themes include the nature of faith and the boundaries of maternal love . [5]

Mad Max: Fury Road is a 2015 action movie co-written, co-produced and directed by George Miller . Miller collaborated with Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris on the screenplay. The fourth installment and a reboot [7] of the Mad Max franchise , it is a joint Australian-American [8] venture produced by Kennedy Mitchell Miller , RatPac-Dune Entertainment andVillage Roadshow Pictures . The film is set in a future desert wasteland where gasoline and water are scarce commodities. It follows Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy ), who joins forces with Imperator Furiosa ( Charlize Theron ) to be the leader of the cult. Immortan Joe ( Hugh Keays-Byrne ) and his army in an armored tanker truck, which leads to a lengthy road battle. The film also features Nicholas Hoult , Rosie Huntington-Whiteley , Riley Keough , Zoë Kravitz , Abbey Lee , and Courtney Eaton.
